Photo recap: Fancy Little Things Fall Fashion Swap

Ah, the swap. It was an amazing success, with more than 20 happy shoppers and a donation of $200 going to New Endeavors by Women! Thank you to everyone who was involved and came to visit us.

Thanks as well to Paul Oberle, photog extraordinaire who volunteered to come hang out with us for the day. There was no time to take photos of my own, but I didn't need to worry with Paul around. Check out some of his shots:

The find: building an outfit from the bottom up

What do you wear when you need to build an outfit from the bottom up due to an injured foot?  Easy: start from the shoes.


Shoes: Crocs.  I know, I know, I know, I KNOW but my foot really hurts and the Crocs are really comfy. Found at the swap.
Skirt:  Ann Taylor. Swapped!
Shirt: A Target staple.
Sweater: Delia's, from the swap.
Jewelry: Forever21, gifts.

Total cost of outfit: probably about $12.

Fancy Little Things Fall Fashion Swap extended!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the Fancy Little Things swap today!  It was a HUGE success and I believe we had a multitude of happy shoppers.

We had so much clothing that we couldn't send it all home with our shoppers.  So for those who couldn't make it, or for those who donated items but didn't come today, we're having a happy hour on Monday, September 20, from 5 to 7 at Sisarina HQ.

For those who have already donated, come and shop like you had planned.  For the newbies, bring a reusable bag and $5. Fill the bag and be happy.

We'll have champagne and juice and some cupcakes that we stashed for our last-chance shoppers.

But ignore all that—it's time to start cleaning out your closet and picking out things to swap at the Fancy Little Things Fall Fashion Swap. Gather some clean items in good shape, bag 'em up, and send them on over so we can get them ready for you to shop 'til you drop on September 19.

Fancy Little Things: The Swap

We're teaming up with Sisarina and JOBSESSED, and we're excited to announce our involvement in the Fancy Little Things Fall Fashion Swap!

Swapping is new to me, and a whole new side of being thrifty that I can't help but love. Here's how it works: Bring us your clothes—the stuff that's been hanging in your closet for a while, but you just don't feel like wearing. Then come back and shop with us on September 19, when you'll be able to scope out the closet rejects of the other attendees. Our hope is that you can build a bit of a new fall wardrobe for minimal cost. Nicole from JOBSESSED will be on hand to photograph all those new wear-to-work ensembles you put together on the fly.
