Get This: BCBG and nearly new

"If only I were a size 10," I keep thinking to myself.  Granted, my frame would look awfully awkward with size 10 feet and size 10 shoes, but that's another story.  All I know is that these BCBG heels are truly something.  I know for a fact that the previous owner only wore them a few times, so they're virtually free of scuffs and marks.

Pointed toes don't seem to be going anywhere, so these will be fashionable for many seasons to come.  The T-strap is also a classic, flattering feature.  Personally, I love the white stitching.

If a size 10 sounds perfect, check out these BCBG heels on our eBay page.

In Other News: NorthJersey.com has an awesome feature article about the bevy of consignment shops that have shown up in the Jerz in the past year or so.  According to the piece, the sagging economy elevated the consignment industry.  A bridal-specific consignment shop is profiled in the article as well.

Get This: Quarter Life Blowout Sale on eBay NOW!

After hours of toiling in front of a sluggish-at-best Internet connection, I've finally set up all the eBay auctions for my current stock of merchandise. I love some of the stuff here, including a Mad Men style dress from Isaac Mizrahi for Target and a brown-and-white polka-dotted dress that looks like it could be from the 1950s. I like dresses so much I may need to consider specializing in them in the future. What do you think of our eBay attempts? I can only aspire to someday look as polished as some of the vintage outlets on the site. Anyway, get over to Quarter Life on eBay while the bidding is low!

In Other News: Just noticed Takoma Park's PollySue's featured in a brief Washington Post piece on vintage wedding gowns. Sue tucks hers away in the basement of her shop, so ask her for a peek if you're in the market for a dress.

Blowout Sale Happening Now!

We're having a blowout sale that's bigger than Pauly D's hair!  In order to make way for new pieces, almost everything on Quarter Life's eBay page is on sale starting at 99 cents!

I'll be listing items through Wednesday, with 5-day auctions ending on Friday and over the weekend.  Items range from jeans to this amazing professional Ann Taylor skirt over here on the right.

I'll admit that most of these pieces are around my size because I'm selfish and like to buy for myself.  But I've gotta make some room in the closet, so jump while you've got the chance.

If you have any questions, send a message through eBay or hit up quarterlife202@gmail.com.

Stay tuned as the auctions develop!

Get This: Mad for Plaid

If you've seen a Delia's catalogue lately, you're well aware that plaid is the hot thing this season. Kids are running around in flannel shirts like it's 1993 all over again, except this time the shirts have some semblance of being the right size. But unless you spend a lot of time around a campfire or are a Really Serious Hipster Kid, there is no need to go head over heels for plaid.

Instead, get some pieces that will withstand the trend. This skirt is cozy and cute, but is still professional. The buttons down the side are just a little different than anything else I've seen so far this fall. And, bonus points to myself for this find: it still had the tags and originally sold for $44.99. What a steal!

Look: Plaid mini for your preppy side.
Label: Banana Republic
Likewise: Tuck in a white button-down and add some black tights (like I did here). Riding boots or patent flats finish the look!

Get it here for a limited time.

Get This: Little Black Dress (with a twist)

Little Black Dresses come in many shapes and forms. This one is pretty bland, so I decided to spice it up with some color. I never invest in belts because I'm picky and nothing ever seems to look right, but for our purposes I improvised with a nice piece of ribbon I got on a gift. It's long, so I wrapped it around a few times and tied it in a bow in the back. Doesn't look too shabby, does it? It's all about confidence.

Look: Classic Little Black Dress
Label: Isaac Mizrahi for Target
Likewise: Put a dress shirt on underneath for the office, or add colorful tights and ankle boots for a cocktail party.

Get it here for a limited time.

In other news: Andrew at New Columbia Heights is compiling a list of things the neighborhood is missing. Thrift store makes the list! While it's practically considered a mainstream neighborhood at this point, it's still pretty cool. A funky consignment shop or thrift store would fit right into Columbia Heights.

Get This: Headgear

I'm not good with hats. I was blessed with an abnormally large dome for a girl my size, and I can never get a hat to fit correctly. Luckily for me, this one has elastic in the back. It's cute enough for fall without overdoing it on the winter prep, and a hat can be just the thing you need to keep you from covered on a chilly morning. It can be yours for a limited time.

Label: Manhattan Cap Company
Look: Menswear
Likewise: Wear it with skinny jeans and a blazer for the menswear look, or just throw it on with a hoodie and sweats if you're hitting the pumpkin patch.

Get This: Indian Summer

Remember fall? Autumn, the season of warm, sun-kissed days and cool, comfortable nights? I fear it may have skipped us over here in DC. If you luck out with a warmer weekend, check out a dress like this one. My scrawny body doesn't do this medium any justice, but you can get it for yourself here for a limited time.

Label: BCBG Max Azria
Look: Jersey dress for day or night
Likewise: Wear it with riding boots or dress it up with an armful of shiny bangles. Flats are a must for a frock like this.
